Hey hey! My name’s Abby. I was born and raised in Louisiana. I am a junior at Dutchtown High School where I participate in a small vocal ensemble. Some of my hobbies include singing, writing music, hiking, and bowling. When I’m not doing those things, you can find me hanging out with my friends! I've been teaching at the Crawfish Swim School for almost a full year! My favorite thing about working here is getting to see my kids improve each session and my favorite skills to teach are backstroke skills. I love how close the staff is which makes us a strong team. I know we always have each others backs! My best memory of teaching at the Swim School would have to be during my first session when one of the babies I was teaching pushed off the wall and swam out to me. And then told me “I did it! I did it!” as soon as they got back on the wall.
Something interesting my swimmers may not know about me is that I have been singing in recitals for about 8 years! And I always make sure I have sour cream & onion pringles in my house, they are my favorite!
"Abby has been such a growing aspect of our team since she started here at the Swim School. From the moment she began training we could tell she is always striving to go beyond what is expected of her. She has grown into her position as an instructor with such grace and precision. We truly could not imagine what we would do without her here at our Prairieville location!" - Haylee J, Bayou Oaks Director
"Abby is one of the sweetest and kindest people I've ever met. She takes immense pride in her kiddos and their progress. Abby always comes into work with a smile on her face and adds such a positive energy to the work environment." -Taylor M
“Abby is such an amazing co-worker and swim instructor. She is always so thoughtful and sweet to both us co-workers and the kids. Abby is always willing to go the extra mile to bring a smile to our faces. She writes sweet notes to us and she is always willing to share her snacks. She is so kind and great with the kids. Abby works hard to help every kid in a comforting and supportive way. Abby overall is a fantastic co-worker.” -Audrey F
Hi my name is Alanna! I just moved to Baton Rouge last year with my sister. We are originally from California. I was a nanny for about six years after I graduated high school and I loved it which is why I applied to be a swim teacher. Some of my hobbies include camping, gardening, and traveling. I have been teaching at the Crawfish Swim School for a few months. My favorite thing about working at Crawfish Swim School is the kids. I could be having a bad day and then all of a sudden I see one of my kids that is just so excited to see me and it just makes me so happy. My best memory of teaching at swim school is when I was teaching a little girl and she was struggling with being able to keep her arm up when doing her side breath and we just kept working at it. She finally got it and was so just proud of herself.
My favorite thing about the people I work with is how nice everyone is. Everyone has been so nice and helpful and really care about their job.
"Alanna has been a wonderful addition to the Crawfish Swim School. Her caring and loving demeanor shows through as she teaches her kiddos how to swim. Alanna always comes in with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. Her hard work and creativity is an inspiration to everyone that works by her side." -Ashley S, Siegen Lane Director
"During the time I've worked with Alanna she has taught me so many things about how to be a better instructor and how to manage my time during classes. Alanna is one of the kindest people I've met since moving here, her positivity always puts a smile on your face even if you're having a bad day and the way the kids' faces light up when they see her just shows how amazing she is at her job." - Elaina G
"I've enjoyed working with Alanna the last few months. She is patient and willing to learn more and more each day. She exudes kindness and genuine care for her swimmers and coworkers. She's been a great member of the team and we're so happy to have her here!" - Kayla D
