Crawfish Swim School is an amazing place for any kid to learn or perfect the ability to swim, and as an employee I am honored to be able to give kids the gift of a lifetime. My name is Wyatt Trahan, I live in Prairieville and go to school at Dutchtown High in the ECO program. I've been working at CSS for three months now since starting at the beginning of July. My favorite thing about working here is the interactions I'm able to have with such wonderful people, whether that's the kids I'm working with, their parents, or the wonderful co-workers I'm working alongside. When it comes to my coworkers they are all great people and my favorite thing is their sense of humor as everyone is able to make not only me but the kids laugh and have a great time while swimming.
The best memory I have since working here has to be one day when a swimmer I was teaching rollovers told me, “I'm not very good at this part” and it made me so sad to hear him think that about himself. So I reassured him that he was trying his best and that was super good. Then later after trying rollovers a few more times he finally got it 100% on his own and the happiness on his face was priceless. And speaking of rollovers, that is my favorite skill to teach as it combines two different techniques of swimming face down to being on your back and floating which I believe is very important as it brings a connection between two fundamental parts of swimming.
Something that my swimmers likely don't know about me is that I'm a magician and have been performing magic for 6 years and a musician and have been playing guitar for 4 years.
" We have watched Wyatt light up with a smile when a child succeeds or attempts a new swim skill or even just something they have been working on for awhile. He is so interactive with the kiddos in the pool and he loves making them laugh and building connections with them not only through swimming but through learning skills. We are so happy to have him as a part of our team."
